Pastor Gary was saved in 1975, and this came about because of the faithfulness of Our Lord Jesus Christ. He had been working for Vons grocery stores as a night manager and two of my employees were Christian ladies. The Lord had laid it on their hearts to begin to pray for his salvation and to go into the ministry. So strong was this calling that one of the ladies laid hands on him and prophesied seven different things, all of which have come true. After his conversion he immediately entered Bible College at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, which took him three years to complete. Pastor Gary graduated in 1978, continued being mentored by Richard Kyle for the next two years while performing various duties in the church. He became an ordained Pastor in 1981. It was during this time that his wife of 25 years became ill with brain cancer and went home to be with the Lord in 1989.

Pastor Gary has had the privilege and blessing of serving as Assistant Pastor to Steve Mays of Calvary Chapel South Bay for a number of years which included Christian Counseling, heading up the Single Parents Ministry, New Believers class, Convalescent Ministry and Marriage Counseling. At the time of his wife's passing he took two years off to minister to his children and then was allowed the blessing of serving as Assistant Pastor to Roger Stahlhut at Calvary Chapel Open Door. This was exciting as this was a brand new church, and he was deeply involved in the building of this church from the ground up.

It was during this time that the Lord brought Pastor Gary's beautiful wife, Anita, into his life. They were married in September 1998 and have served faithfully side-by-side since that time. They have a beautiful blended family of 5 grown children: Troy, Tracey, Brenda, Bobbie and Mary; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Since coming to Calvary Chapel La Mirada in 2009 Pastor Gary has been praying for this body to support our Pastor and to serve through God's Word, to know Christ and His purpose for each to grow in His grace and knowledge, to continue looking to Jesus Christ as the answer in our lives, to be obedient and to be filled daily with the Holy Spirit and to be led in the truth and love of our Almighty God.

Of all the books that Pastor Gary has read in my lifetime the Bible remains the #1 book in his life and two of his favorite scriptures are Ephesians 3:14-16 For this reason I kneel before the Father from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. I pray that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory to be strengthened with power in the inner man through His Spirit and Ephesians 1:17-18, I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.  I pray that the perception of your mind may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints.
