Home School PURPOSE :
Home School ISP began in 2002 as a ministry to church families that wanted to school their children. As Christian parents, we are instructed to train up our children in the ways of the Lord. Calvary Chapel La Mirada is supportive of parents who home school their children incorporating biblical principles and building a strong moral foundation based on the Word of God. We are an ISP (Independent Study Program) for home educated families.
WHAT IS AN INDEPENDENT STUDY PROGRAM?
Private schools operate under the provision of the California Education Code Section 48222 and in accordance, Calvary Chapel La Mirada files a Private School Affidavit with the state each year. As a private school with independent study support, Calvary Chapel La Mirada will guide and monitor your family?s education program under an ISP Contract signed by the parents and the Home School Administrator. However, each family is in control of the education of its children by choosing its own methods and materials (curriculum).
